I was born and raised in the desert of central Arizona where I grew up on a diet of Tom and Jerry cartoons, Brady Bunch reruns and Star Wars. At age seven, I was gifted “Ed Emberley’s Drawing Book of Animals” and have been obsessed with illustration and visual communication ever since. Winning the program design contest for my elementary school’s 5th grade Christmas musical (Santa and the Snowmobile) only sealed the deal.

I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, and then moved to Los Angeles where I worked many years as an art director for agencies, large corporations and toy companies.

Now, I make art and write stories for kids!

You can usually find me at my desk–painting, drawing and writing; or poring over my favorite cookbooks, looking for the perfect recipe to throw together in my trusty Le Creuset.
